Tulip Poplar

Spring leaves open on a young Tulip Poplar in Tallulah Falls, GA USA.

The Tulip Poplar is one of the more abundant hardwoods in the northern mountain region of Georgia, or the Appalachian mountains. It is a member of the Magnolia family and gets it’s name from the tulip shaped flowers that adorn it during late spring and summer.
