Simply Daisy
Ox-Eye Daisy against a background of rich, red Georgia clay.
Chrysanthemum leucanthemum – Aster family
Common field daisy with 2.5 – 5 cm wide flowers comprised of white petals, or rays, which are all female and a yellow disc depressed in the center containing both male and female flowers. The leaves are dark green, pinnately lobed and range from 7 to 15 cm in length. These plants can grow as high as 90 cm and are frequently found in meadows and roadsides throughout North America from late May through August.
I took this photograph along a country road on the outskirts of Clarkesville, GA USA.
