Color of Coffee

Coffee beans at different stages of ripeness on a plantation in Costa Rica.

The shiny leaves of the coffee bush along with the bright red beans referred to as Cherries make photographing these plants very difficult. Even with a polarizer on a cloudy day I had trouble reducing the glare.

By the way, the darker red cherries are those that are ripe for harvest. If you’d like to learn more about harvesting coffee, please follow this Link to an article on Wikipedia

Costa Rica produces some of the best coffee in the world.
